Stranger Things : What happened to Will? / Cover 1

A cover for the first issue of the Stranger Things comic-books mini serie published by Darkhorse and Netflix.
For this one I’ve kept the painterly style of the movie posters from the 80´s as well as the color scheme of the promotional visuals of season 1. I’ve quoted another famous (and brilliant) horror movie poster that is also an Easter egg in the serie. My first sketch was with a full monster but sounded more interesting to not show it and playing with this easter egg. And not least I’ve done this cover exactly while working at Wizards of the Coast for three weeks of concept arts on...Dungeons and Dragons! With the team developing the game leaded by @adamanto432 and @richardwhitters (the guy who designed the last Demogorgon!!) Fun story! :)
