Thor Ragnarok : Scavengers
A groupshot of some scavengers done for Thor : Ragnarok. I've worked on them separately, solving concept issues on each on them then did this picture of the group and with the proper setting : a huge garbage dump. A request was to make all this characters easy to create practically without CGI. So it was about keeping in mind that thi ssuits would be doable for sure. And so I can't help myself and added a big gorilla robot without head under @andyparkart approval "Ok let's try and we'll see!" The idea was that this robot was hacked and he's under control for handling heavy weights.
This happening on planet Saakar where there are a lot of weird holes in the sky. Lots of stuff and things from other worlds are falling from this holes. Things from our world and the MCU. Notice the detail!
A guy living in the garbage dump of the Saakar planet. And waiting for what could fall from the holes open in the sky. Stuff falling from other worlds like a Chitauri ship? His weird arm device allows him to search more efficiently in the garbages.
Kirby excessive shapes and patterns (like the helmet) + a tribal feel + parts of this and that. One of the reference I’ve used for all my scavengers was photographs of african guys with hyenas as domestic pets. Like dogs.
And did you Recognize what's in the background?
You can see it several times in the movie as well as behind Loki in a sequence only appearing in the trailer. Kirby excessive shapes and patterns + a tribal feel + parts of this and that.

There is a planet called Saakar in this movie, which looks mostly like some giant garbage dump with weird holes in the sky from which lots of stuff fall from other world. So what if elements of the previous movies fall on this world? Like a Quinjet???
